My hubby got a cougar a couple of years ago. for as long as I can remember there has been a yellow tool looking light showing on the ceiling. If ya have a cougar you would know what I'm talking about. What does the light mean? We've gotten the car tuned up but it hasn't gone away. Also we don't know how to turn on the back windshield wiper or change the spark plugs. There are also theses buttons that remains useless on the dash. I heard you can program them but how? That is a service reminder light. It comes on at preset intervals to remind you that service is needed, like oil changes. It has to be reset after service is performed. How to reset the light, and your other questions are answered in the Owners Guide and the Maintenance Guide. You can download a free copy off one of the Ford sites like www.genuineservice.com.
